About the company
Télé-Thyon SA has grown considerably in recent years. An attractive ski area, sophisticated mechanical snow production and access to the 4 Vallées have clearly contributed to the success of the business. Its financial results reflect these changes and now mean the company is able to implement an ambitious investment policy.
The opening of the Etherolla chair lift in December 2008 is one example of this policy in practice. The new chair lift offered the ski area clear added value. The piste has also been reviewed and adapted for a new influx of skiers.
The company’s development also depends on diversifying its activities. Formerly a mechanical ski lifts company, Télé-Thyon SA now also owns a holiday apartments letting agency, a restaurant and the Thyon 2000 public swimming pool.
Because we face stiff competition and are highly dependent on meteorological conditions, we need to continue in this direction and several million CHF of investments are planned for the next 15 years. Gradually modernising our installations, focusing on a smaller number with higher levels of profitability, finalising the mechanical snow production network and creating new infrastructure should all help to differentiate us on our market and welcome our customers in the best possible conditions.
