Téléverbier: the leading company in the 4 Vallées ski area
As the largest ski lift company in French-speaking Switzerland, Téléverbier SA operates under its own name in the three ski areas of Verbier, La Tzoumaz and Bruson. It shares operations in the Mont-Fort area with its neighbour, NV Remontées mécaniques SA. Its 36 lifts serve 203 km of pistes and skiing trails (Italian standards) at all levels, in an exceptional ski area culminating at an altitude of over 3,300 m. Although they already benefit from optimal natural snow cover because of the altitude, most of the marked pistes in the ski area are equipped with mechanical snow production systems. Alongside Bruson, La Tzoumaz, Nendaz, Veysonnaz and Thyon, Verbier is the jewel in the crown of the 4 Vallées, the largest linked ski area in Switzerland, with 410 km of pistes served by 96 lifts. Now over 60 years old, Téléverbier SA has remained an independent and mainly private company since it was formed. It has never relied on public funding and is one of the few businesses in the sector to have remained in sound financial health throughout its existence. Since 2001, it has been listed on the Eurolist Compartment C on the Paris Stock Exchange. The company also runs high-altitude catering services and tourist accommodation. It is responsible for the operational management of Télé-Thyon SA, of which it owns 30.77% of the capital. Another group subsidiary, Services Techniques Alpin SA, provides engineering and maintenance services to ski lift companies, mainly in French-speaking Switzerland.
